Pandemic protocols

General rules for club members:

1.     Do not come to a Snow Motion event if you’re feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who is sick (head cold, influenza, COVID-19).

2.     Always wear a non-medical mask when in the parking area. You can remove these just before you start skijoring or kick sledding on the trail. Put the mask back on if you’re standing around at the trailhead and when going back to your car.

3.     Do not handle other people’s equipment or dogs, unless in an emergency.

Group run rules:

We are currently under provincial regulations regarding the number of people who can gather in a group outside. This number may vary throughout the season.

We will be running in small groups of 5 people maximum, in order to comply and keep ourselves safe.

1.     Sign up for a specific time slot on Sunday morning between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. We will send club members the link by email each week. This must be done by Thursday night prior to the Sunday run.

2.     Arrive just before your time slot, but remain in your car until the exact time. Watch for a club coordinator who will direct traffic.

3.     Wear a non-medical mask in the parking area and while waiting for your group to get ready to move.

4.     Don’t congregate to talk, even if your dog knows other dogs.

5.     As always, dogs don’t touch other dogs. No one wants gangline macramé! Maintain that gangline-length distance from each other.

6.     Follow the directions of your group leader and stay together. Give skiers and non-club members plenty of space. Be kind and courteous, and follow passing protocols.

7.     When finished the group run, please load your dog(s) and gear into your car and depart.

If you are not comfortable running in these groups, please do not come to GUA1 on Sundays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. We respect your choice to keep safe during the pandemic. The trails are open 24/7 for our sports. However, we cannot have unregistered folks from our club showing up unannounced during this 3-hour permitted booking of the trail.

If you test positive for COVID-19 (or if someone in your family or friendship group), please notify the club coordinators as soon as possible, so we can trace who you came into contact with at a group event.
