Beginners' training sessions

Snow Motion offers follow-up training to those who have taken a beginners' workshop or who want further hands-on training.

Beginners' follow-up lessons will be held on Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2016 at 11 a.m.
See the Calendar page for location.
Check in with club co-coordinators Susie Strachan or Lorne Volk.

We cover:
* keeping the gangline tight
* encouraging your dog(s) to move forward
* gee / haw turns
* passing other teams
* general trail etiquette

This is also a good opportunity to ask questions about how to further your training, talk about skis, kick sleds, techniques, waxes and more.

These take place on Sundays when the club is using a groomed trail, such as Birds Hill Park's group use area 1.

For this, you need your dog(s) in harness and need to dress for the weather.

Skijorers will need skis, poles, boots and a belt and gangline.

Kick sledders will need either their own kick sled, the club's rental kick sled, or must make arrangements to borrow one from one of three club coordinators.

To take part in the guided beginner runs, you must be a member of Snow Motion, as per our agreement with Parks and the City of Winnipeg.

Dues are $20 a year. They are collected during Snow Motion events, or you can ask us to send you a PDF of the form, which you can print and mail in to us.
